 Sherman makes Breed history! and wins Reserve Best In Show at the Three Counties Championship Dog Show. He is the first Malamute to achieve this high an honour at an UK Championship show.

 We had a spectacular day on the 13th, Working and Pastoral breeds judging day. Malamutes were judged by UK breed specialist Mr. Walt Howarth of the Hawkams Alaskan Malamute kennel. There were 57 Malamutes for a total entry of 69. The Working Group was judged by the highly respected all-rounder Miss Jean Lanning.

 We had to return to the show on the following day for Best In Show judging. The intermittent showers of the previous day had turned into torrential rain, but fortunately it didn't seem to bother any of the dogs. After a considerable and damp wait, the big moment finally arrived and the seven Groups winners made their way into the big ring. Sherman showed his little heart out and shouted a lot for food! After a final move of all the dogs, the BIS judge, Mrs. Dagmar Kenis-Pordham, made no hesitation in selecting the fabulous Dalmatian for BIS. Then, to our utter amazement, she walked straight over to Sherman for Reserve! The total entry for the entire show was 8,690 dogs for 11,183 entries.

 Miss Jean Lanning: Working Group 1 " A magnificent dog. Impressed immediately with his style and presence, excellent make and shape, and the firmest and soundest of movers. This young dog is one to watch."

 Mrs. Dagmar Kenis-Pordham: Reserve BIS "The Alaskan Malamute Tuvaurat Made In America, wonderful for type, presented in peak working condition, and with the most wonderful head and expression; powerful mover."..."The young Malamute dog for me is so very right for breed type, has a truly handsome masculine head and was a magnificent mover, he had to come in as Reserve."
